LANDERCOLL® HEC Powder

LANDERCOLL Manufactures High-Performance HEC

Professional Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Manufacturer

  • Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic hydroxyalkyl cellulose that dissolves in cold and hot water, forming a pseudoplastic solution. Its degree of substitution ranges from 1.3 to 2.5. HEC is a tasteless, non-toxic powder that appears white or slightly yellow. The primary raw materials used in its production include high-purity wood pulp, cotton cellulose, sodium hydroxide, and ethylene oxide.
  • Holding leading market positions in the Cellulose Ether industry, LANDERCOLL provides Hydroxyethyl Cellulose that plays the role of thickening, bonding, dispersing, stabilizing, and preserving water, forming films, and providing protective colloid. Due to these properties, our HEC powder can be used in latex paints, water-based paints, oil drilling, adhesives, and pharmaceutical excipients.

LANDERCOLL The HEC Manufacturer You Can Rely On

LANDERCOLL MVR Wastewater Treatment For Sustainability Goal

LANDERCOLL has introduced Mechanical Vapor Recompression wastewater treatment technology. This facility allows for potential reuse or safe disposal of chemicals used in production. By integrating MVR into the production of Cellulose ethers, LANDERCOLL is able to achieve our Zero Liquid Discharge goals.

LANDERCOLL introduces cotton in cellulose ether production to enhance the quality of our products. This high-purity cellulose is then used to produce premium Cellulose Ether and other polymer additives, ensuring optimal performance in various applications such as construction and pharmaceuticals.

FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS

What Is The Difference Between HPMC and HEC(Hydroxyethyl Cellulose)?

  • HEC demonstrates excellent film-forming capabilities, beneficial for coatings and adhesives. HPMC also has film-forming properties but may exhibit different effects than HEC(Hydroxyethyl Cellulose) in specific applications.
  • HEC(Hydroxyethyl Cellulose) exhibits a broader pH stability range compared to HPMC, remaining stable within the PH range of 2 to 12 However, HPMC performs better in acidic conditions.

How to Dissolve Surface-Treated Hydroxyethyl Cellulose In Cold Water?

Surface-treated HEC disperses in cold water without coagulating, but its dissolution rate is relatively slow, typically requiring about 30 minutes. Heating it or adjusting the pH to 8-10 can facilitate rapid dissolution.

Is Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Subjected to Temperature?

When the solution temperature increases, the viscosity of HEC will decrease, and this process is reversible.

Is Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Compatible With Other Polymers?

Yes, HEC solutions are compatible with most water-soluble polymers and can coexist with other cellulose ethers, starch and its derivatives, gelatin, and natural gums. HEC can also coexist with surfactants and salts, making it an excellent colloidal thickener for solutions containing high concentrations of electrolytes.
