Zato imajo vodne raztopine celuloznega etra dolo\u010deno stopnjo povr\u0161inske aktivnosti, kar jim omogo\u010da, da delujejo kot suspenzijska in disperzijska sredstva. Vsebuje izredno malo kovinskih ionov (kot so natrijevi ioni) in v bistvu ne vsebuje ve\u010dvalentnih ionov, vklju\u010dno s kalcijem, magnezijem in \u017eelezom.
